The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic organization, with more than 1.7 million members around the world.
We are a Catholic Organization: Holy Trinity Council serves and works closely with St. John the Evangelist’s Parish and Holy Trinity’s Parish. However, we do have members from other parishes. We sing in the choirs, we are members of Parish Councils, Religious Education Teacher; we are Ushers, Lectors, we even serve as Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist. In short, we serve our pastors as much or as long as our pastors want us to serve them. We hold a Memorial Mass in November for our deceased Brothers. All of our widows are invited. We are part of the Keep Christ in Christmas Campaign and we sell Christmas Cards. When a brother is called to God, we gather at the funeral home, and with the permission of the family, Pray the Rosary for eternal repose of his soul. The Rosary is usually led by our Grand Knight. To promote the vocations to the priesthood and religious life, our council supports Five (5) seminarians with an annual stipend.
We are a FAMILY Organization: Our calendar is full of social events. In February, we hold our Ladies Appreciation Dinner Dance. This function is exclusively for members and a function in which the men treat the ladies! Children are left with sitters or family and the men do all the work. Women are not allowed in the kitchen that evening. We even entertain our women that evening with a dancing chorus line. In the Spring we hold our Annual Valentine’s Dance. In September we have our Annual Family Picnic, which proves to be fun for all, with rides, games and crafts. In October we hold our Annual Oktoberfest, which is open to the public, with various demonstrations, games, rides, crafts, authentic German Food, Drink and more. And we top off December with our Annual Children’s and Adult’s Christmas parties, with Santa in attendance. Holy Trinity Council does several events through out the year with our youth. Besides our Children’s Christmas party, we hold an Essay Contest each year for 8th graders. Two winners are awarded with a certificate and $ 250.00 savings bonds at the graduation ceremony. Holy Trinity Council, each year holds Fish Dinners in conjunction with Lent. These dinners are held on Friday nights to offer our parish family the opportunity to eat as a family.
